A circular walk from Lodge lake car park (Great Holm, Milton Keynes) around, the Teardrop Lakes and on to Furzton Lake, then back.
easy
Distance 11.7 km
A Circular walk around three lakes in Milton Keynes, starting at the car park beside Lodge Lake (near the national Badminton Centre) before heading through Loughton Valley Park (passing the equestrian centre) and on to The Teardrop Lakes.
Bordering the A5 the walk continues past the teardrops (on the North East side) and on, passed the National Bowl (famed for it's concerts in the 80's and 90's) and onto Furzton Lake, one of Milton Keynes largest lakes.
After circling the whole of Furzton lake, the path goes back past the Bowl and to the Teardrops, this time walking the South West path, back through Loughton Vally Park and finishing off circling around Lodge Lake back to the starting car park.
The entire route is paved, although there are a couple of sections that are along a road without a pavement (the road is very quiet), and while much is in, some of, Milton Keynes parks, there are areas that are through housing, although usually bordered by a lake or stream.
Ideal for those who want a nice walk in town. Pavement Pounders.
You could start anywhere along the route (the beauty of it being circular) and there are car parks at Lodge Lake, two at the Teardrop Lakes and two at Furzton Lake.
If you start/finish at Lodge Lake you could extend the walk through Loughton Valley and head to the fantastic Bradwell Abbey, a building from 1100bc.
