This is a wonderful circular walk through some great country side visiting Bolsover Castle, Sutton Scarsdale Hall and Hardwick Hall.
The distance is around fourteen miles and it can be completed in roughly 5 or 6 hours, I would recommend you allow more time if are stopping off for tea or you want to explore. There is a lot to see around Bolsover and Hardwick Hall and Park is stunning.
I think this route is best done in an anti-clockwise direction, the final section from Glapwell to Bolsover has some fanastic views across a large valley and you can see for miles and miles.
The route is almost entirely traffic free and makes use of footpaths and farm tracks. Most of the route is very easy to follow and is not hard going but some sections do get muddy and wet.. The route is not suitable for cyclists but dog walkers will enjoy this walk for sure.
There is ample free parking in Bolsover and there are numerous pubs and cafes etc.. Enjoy.
