5 mile easy circular walk from Pulham Market to Pulham St Mary and back via the Boudicca Way.
easy
Distance 8.3 km
Start at the small, free car park in Pulham Market. Head south along Station Road past the village centre green, the wonderful old houses and large church.
After a short walk along the lane, turn left onto the public footpath and follow this south-east towards Pulham St Mary. When you meet the road, turn left onto the road and fork right onto Station Road and up into Pulham St Mary.
At the junction with The Street, you will find the Pennoyer Centre on your left. An interesting buidlng, being a combination of a 15th century chapel, a Victorian school and a modern extension. Has a very nice cafe, with cakes baked by the friendly staff behind the counter.
Turn right onto The Street and just after the church turn left onto what looks like a private lane, which leads to a public footpath. After some fields, turn right onto a lane and later left across more fields.
Right onto another lane and after a short distance fork left onto a public footpath. It's a bit unclear here. Head towards the back of the tall, modern barn with no sides and green steel. You should pick up the path here, running to the left of a ditch. Take careful note of your GPX as you walk this section that first heads north, then west before meeting another lane.
Turn right onto the lane and continue until a public footpath sign on the left. Don't go through the gate, but pick up the path to its right and along the edge of the field. You will then come to the Boudicca Way which takes you south and back to Pulham Market. (When the Boudicca Way appears split, with paths left and right and no signs, take the path to the left.)
