A mile and a half walk on roads and tracks to one of the best viewpoints near Strachur

Starting from Strachur Smiddy this walk takes you up about 500 feet to a great viewpoint.
The TV and ee phone masts are there, so the track is good enough for maintenance vehicles to get up. Not accessible for private vehicles though.
From the top you can see down Loch Fyne, and on a clear day you can see two of the Papps of Jura beyond the Kintyre hills.
You will probably see buzzards, and lots of small birds. You probably won't see a pine marten, but you migh see their characteristic coiled and pointed scat.
Walking directions from the Smiddy are : walk down the hill ~ 100 yds and turn right. Follow this tarred road past a few houses, past a wood and continue onto a gravel track, over a bridge to the left at and then right up the hill. When you come to a fork in the road go left for the mast and carry on to the end of the track.
