A tour of the Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve.
easy
Distance 1.6 km
A circular walk through the Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve. The path takes you through a newly planted area of woodland adjacent to an established area of invasive Rhododendron (outside of the boundary of the Reserve). The gap in the Cornish Hedge mid-way up the path takes you into a more established area of the Reserve, including a stand of Monterey Pines and various long-standing oaks. Once through this area the habitat changes to gorse and heather heathland crowned by Knill's Monument with views over St. Ives Bay. The path then takes you through the Ancient Woodland (part of the Celtic Rainforest) and back through the middle path of the Reserve.
