The Hill reaches a height of 574 Ft (175m), making this the 18th highest in the country, as with most of the top 20 hills in Surrey is part of the slightly scattered Geensands Ridge
The site contains several Megalithic & Neolithic artifacts dating as far back as 3500 BC. There is traditional belief the original name of this hill was Saints & Martyrs Hill , the Martyr being St Thomas of Canterbury.
The graveyard of the church includes a memorial to the Actress & singer Yvonne Arnaud, whose Ashes are scattered here. A New Zealander , Bernard Freyberg VC is also buried here medaled officer in 1916 of the Royal West Surrey Regiment.
