Follow route in Munro book or Walkhighlands. It is a straightforward walk but points to consider if just doing the 3 Munros that are not really described in the guides are noted below. Ideally using two cars is best and doing the five sisters.
1. It is a long walk and there is a lot of walking amongst big boulders. A little bit of climbing is required at a couple of small sections, although they are easy for experienced hillwalkers.
2. If going down from Sgurr Fhuaran it is best just to head WSW from the top down steep hillside rather than taking recognisable path to fifth sister as we did. It is going in the wrong direction and doesn't lead to a path down from Sgurr Fhuaran.
3. The route down Sgurr Fhuaran is steep and because there is no path is tricky and a bit awkward and slow. I found using walking poles useful for entire walk, but especially this section.
4. The footbridge across the river no longer exists, so we had to go through the local farmers yard and cross his bridge. I am not sure if he woud have approved, but we had no choice as we were running out of time. The river crosses to the other side of the main road a couple of kilometres further along, so that is an option, although we didn't do it.
5.We had considered going back along ridge to starting point, but in hindsight, route down from Sgurr Fhuaran and longish walk along road to starting point is preferable.
