Shropshire Way
easy
Distance 26.9 km
Train from Shrewsbury to Craven Arms then walk through rolling farm land to Plowden from where you can ascend the Long Mynd using ancient tracks (The Port Way) and a metalled road.
In the winter this can feel quite remote but on a nice summers day it is very popular with walkers, cyclists, horse-riders, gliders and people just out for a drive.
Eventually drop down into the Rattlinghope valley and Bridges where you can overnight in the Youth Hostel or the excellent Horseshoe Inn (formerly Bridges).
