A really enjoyable woodland wander around Shotover Country Park.

This is a great walk in the woodland of Shotover Country Park and the connected woodland of Brasenose Wood. It starts in a free car park at the end of Old Road, once the main turnpike road east from Oxford, but now a restricted byway. Given how close it is to the traffic and noise of Oxford, Shotover feels very calm and peaceful, and makes for a particularly good place to explore with a dog or children.
Note that parts of the wood can get very muddy in winter or after rain, so make sure you wear appropriate footwear!
