A little bit of everything the New Forest has to offer from wide open commons with commanding views, then a shot road walk to conclude through Blashford Lakes.
Distance 12.1 km
Due north on the Avon Valley path (firts stretch muddy even in dry weather) then striking up onto Ibsley Common to visit the remains of the WWII High Frequency Direction Finding station (Huff-Duff). Then back across the common and over Dockens Water to climb up onto and across Rockford Common before descending through Highwood and a short stretch of quite road walking to reach Blashford Lakes where a 1 mile loop brings you out by the Alice Lyle PH from where an easy stroll gets you back to the car park.
