Views over the north coast of Gower from Pen-clawdd
moderate
Distance 8.2 km
The largest village on the Gower Peninsula, Pen-clawdd lies at the northern end of a former coal-mining belt that ran along the peninsula’s eastern edge. Despite its industrial past, this is an area no less beautiful than anywhere else on Gower; the wooded valley of the Morlais River is particularly delightful. The high ground behind Pen-clawdd also provides exceptional views along the length of the Loughor Estuary.
