An up-and-down route from Long Buckby up to the ridge to West Haddon, then down to Watford and back to Long Buckby.

Distance 11.7 km
This enjoyable (although muddy in winter!) route starts in the market square of Long Buckby, and initially heads north, curving northwest to join the Jurassic Way on its way west from West Haddon. The Jurassic Way is then followed for a mile or so, back down into the Watford Gap and down to the edge of Watford, passing very close by to some very large (and newly installed) wind turbines. After Watford the route heads east back to Long Buckby, crossing a busy railway via a level crossing along the way.
The route has quite a few stiles, and lots of mud, but makes for an enjoyable afternoon's exploration of the Northamptonshire countryside. Waymarking is generally good with a couple of exceptions: where the route joins the Jurassic Way at a farmhouse being one -- you want to exit the field via the left hand, unmarked gate, and then find the path past the farm buildings to your left.
