From Litton, head West on the road down Litton Dale. Turn left at the T-junction onto the road through Tideswell Dale. Shortly after this you leave the road to follow a public footpath down the dale until you get to another road. Follow the concession path along the river Wye to Cressbrook (through Miller's Dale, Water-cum-Jolly Dale), then head left up the hill (take a detour into Cressbrook if you want), and then follow the public byeway up Cressbrook Dale, continuing when the path become a footpath. Fork left onto the concession path to stay in the dale bottom until you turn left up the footpath to Tansley Dale. Then over farmland (sometimes there are cows in these fields) back to Litton.
The walk requires confident map reading skills and involves some rough and steep terrain. You download and use this GPX file at your own risk and should make your own assessment of the terrain, conditions and your own ability to complete it.
