Route starts by Church in Little Leigh (parking best by the School) down a wide bridle path on left to the Trent & Mersey Canal. Just prior to exiting the canal you will go over the Salterford Tunnel via the old Horse path. After leaving the Canal though Barnton, up the hill then through country side and fields looping back into Little Leigh.

The start is great along the canal, however the second half is not good at all and is no good with dogs, it takes you through some very old overgrown and overtaken footpaths through potato and wheat fields and event through someone’s back garden. There are lots of large overgrown stiles that you have to lift the dogs over too. Would not recommend this walk to anyone.
