Stage 36 of the Lancashire Way. Officially this should start in Kirby Lonsdale, but we start in Leck to provide easier parking and cover a section not yet completed in section 35.
To make a circular route, the stage ends just before the official finish point in Gressingham to cross the Loyn bridge and pick up Stage 34 of the way back to Leck. To make this simpler, it is reccommended to take Woodman Lane back through Cowan Bridge to shorten the distance and avoid the more complex navigation in the final miles of that stage. This does add a significant distance and totals at just under 20 miles, so using public transport from Kirby Lonsdale and Hornby might be easier.
There is a very confusing part of the route through Cowan Bridge which I have noted. There is a diversion for this part (using Woodman lane again!) which may be easier to follow.
Much of this route (from Kirby Lonsdale to Gressingham) follows the Lune Valley Ramble along the banks of the River Lune. The path may not always be clear throughout, especially in times of flooding, but following the river provides simple navigtion.
