Distance 6.5 km
This walk covers the (paid for) Ingleton Waterfalls trail and takes in some of the most stunning waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales. The land the walk takes place on is private and it does cost to enter and walk around, with the walk maintained by the Ingleton Scenery Company.
The good news is that once you're on the trail it is 99% impossible to go wrong. The route is exceptionally well signposted and in fact in some areas the only way is quite literally along the trail.
There are also refreshments halfway round before Beezley falls available through the Falls Cafe.
Starting from the car park, head away from the entrance with the gate to your backs towards the back corner of the car park. The trail starts here. You will end up following this for some time before you will need to refer to this guide at all as the only way is forward. The map you should have been given on entrance is pretty good too.
Once you've climbed to the top of the falls you'll come across a small green porta-cabin/shipping container. If it's open, do grab refreshments if you need any but the main cafe is further along.
Head down the trail towards the biggest and most impressive set of falls, 'Thornton Force'. The water here is reasonably shallow and the braver souls can climb behind the waterfall for some good photo opportunities. When you're done splashing around head up on top of the falls and follow the trail around the back. You'll be led down to a small bridge you need to head across and then walk up towards the right to be brought onto a small road. This leads to the falls cafe.
Once you're done with the cafe (or skipping through it) head towards the back left and down towards Beezley Falls. It's well signposted. From here, the only way is down and back towards Thornton. Once you hit the village the route back to the car park is also well signposted and it is nearly impossible to get lost!
