The walk is 2.5 miles long. It is easy walking largely on grass or on gravel forest tracks through woodland with some open heathland. However there are 3 very small streams/drainage ditches to cross – they are easy, there may be some muddy bits particularly around one of the streams.

Roundhills Campsite is closed to campers in the winter, so this is an ideal time to do this walk. The campsite can be found on the Beaulieu to Brockenhurst road (B3055). Turn into the campsite. Follow the long entry drive, parking is available close to the reception hut(which is closed in Winter). I do not know the status of parking here when the campsite is open, sorry. However there are 3 very small streams/drainage ditches to cross – they are easy, there may be some muddy bits particularly around one of the streams. During the winters of 2013 and 14 this route was impassible as the river is prone to flooding after all the rain we had, so beware if similar conditions arrive in the future.
