The walk follows the river for some distance before crossing by a footbridge. It then crosses a park and up Pilgrims' Way before entering Chantry Wood. The first destination is St Martha's Church which sits atop St Martha's Hill and provides lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Great place for a picnic. The route then goes down into the valley where it crosses Dorking Road and a railway line. The route continues through Blackheath and crosses the B2128 before Tannery Lane is reached and then down on to a disused railway track which is now Cycleway 22. The route leaves the cycleway after a while and the River Wey is crossed at a bridge on Broadford Road. The river is now on your right and it is followed all the way back to the White House pub.
