Start from the car park opposite the Spar shop at the northern end of the village and walk north to the end of the village. Cross the road and enter the riverside path through a kissing gate at the side of the road bridge over the river. Follow the obvious path through the wood close to the river bank, there are side paths to angling stations on the river bank, but the main route is the obvious path.
Follow this route until you reach the end of the wood (just over 1.5 km) and continue for around 400m before making a right turn (there is a way-marker post, it is also the wider path). Follow the path up hill trending right, the path fades towards the top, but is still obvious in good conditions.
At the top of the climb the path turns into an ATV trail, which descends towards Glencanisp Lodge. On reaching the track at the bottom of the descent, turn right towards the lodge and follow the signs. There is an "Honsety Shop" here where refreshmants are available.
Follow the track westwards towards the coast, this eventually becoms the public road (Canisp Road); follow this to the main road through the village and turn right back towards the starting point
