Endon - Brown Edge - Tinster Wood - Endon Edge
moderate
Distance 7.5 km
This walk was first published on The Sentinel newspaper website on 14 July 2008 and was designed by Peter Matthews of The Staffordshire Area Ramblers Association.
The route remains valid in 2016 and takes you high above Endon with panoramic views in all directions. Dropping down into Brown Edge you pass along narrow lanes. Leaving Brown Edge behind you pass through Tinster Wood where the path is indistinct in places, but if you run more or less parallel with the wall on the left edge of the wood you will arrive in the right place. Then passing along ancient trackways over Endon Edge and back down to Endon and your starting point.
Many of the stiles on this route are of the twin standing stones, with a narrow gap between, variety.
Peter Matthews full route guide can be found at, and printed off from, http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/local-walks-endon/story-12509249-detail/story.html
Allow up to 2.25 hours
I use Waypoints to mark junctions and stiles but more importantly in order to precisely follow the route. I have found this invaluable when you are unsure where the path is.
