A tough walk up a spectacular ridge 'Y Grib' in the Black Mountains, over an Ancient hill fort to the Waun Fach summit.

From back of the car park, head down to the bridal path and cross over a stile into the field opposite.
Cross the field, keeping left and cross the stream - this can get very muddy and slippery after rian. Climb directly up the steep slope to the Castell Dinas Hill Fort. This is the head of the Dragon.
descend the slope on the other side before climing the ridge, the Dragon's back.

Public transport
There is no public transport to the start/finish point.Getting there
Drive from Elmsleigh, back through Hay-on-Wye and head west towards Brecon on B4350.
At Glasbury, carry straight on, the road becomes the A438.
Upon exiting Aberllynfi (Three Cocks), pass Black Mountain Activities on the right, then take the next left towards Talgarth on the A4078.
When the road comes into Talgarth, turn left and head towards Abergavenny on the A479. Second left at the roundabout at the southern corner of Talgarth and head up the hill.
Pengenffordd and The Dragon's Back car park is 3 miles up the road at the top of the climb.
Parking
There is a private car park with a £2 fee (all-day). Payment is made into an honesty box. Car park activity is closely monitored.Coordinates
