We had planned this journey into North Wales with short notice but wanted to get some walking done around the town we were staying at Barmouth. A few nights booked in a great B&B called Lawrenny lodge that sits in a great place overlooking the Estuary . The town sits south of Snowdonia National park with the River Mawddach Estuary flowing into Cardigan Bay. The town grew around the shipbuilding industry, and more recently as a seaside resort. Notable buildings include the mediaeval Tŷ Gwyn tower house, the 19th century Tŷ Crwn roundhouse prison and St John's Church. There are plenty of Pubs and restaurants to keep you fed and watered at night, we used the Last inn and I have to say the food was good. please see http://canvins.com/wales/barmouth.html for more info
