Derbyshire, Tissington - High Peak Trails

From Parsley Hay station (bike hire shop and toilets) head south to the junction of the Tissington and High Peak trails.  The route can be taken in either direction.  Taking the right-hand Tissington Trail leads past Hartington Station (parking and toilets).

Continue until the track goes over the road between the A515 and Biggin. Leave the trail here and use the footpath alongside the road to reach the A515.  Take great care when crossing this busy road. Turn right up the A515 for a few yards until Cardlemere Lane is reached.

After about 1.5km turn left and follow a farm track uphill to reach the High Peak Trail.  This farm track can be muddy and is the most difficult stretch of the ramble.

Turn left on the High Peak Trail. After about 2km a car park and picnic area is reached. This is an alternative starting point but there are no toilets.

A further 4km or so sees us back at Parsley Hay.
