Derbyshire, (Staffs) Manifold Valley

Choose from a simple out-and-back to the cafe at Wetton Mill or take the gated road from the mill side of the river to Ecton Bridge. 

Going south from Hulme End the track is shared and a bit narrow in places so don't be surprised to meet horses. 

From Wetton Bridge the route goes through a fairly short tunnel. This stretch is all tarmac as it is a little-used road.

Wetton Mll is owned by the National Trust. The Cafe might be open!

Either return the same way or, if on a suitable scooter, go through the farm and along the gated road to Ecton Bridge passing the entrance to Swainsley Mine.  The track has a sound base but can be muddy in places.
