Maryport is a very old small town with a picturesque harbour looking over the Solway Firth to Scotland. The beaches are a mixture of rock pools, pebbles and sand.
Hadrian’s cycleway is part of the Cumbrian Coastal path and encompasses Maryport Promenade.
We follow the path close to the shore north towards Allonby until we reach Crosscanonby Carr Nature Reserve where we will have lunch.
