A comprehensive brochure of the full work in pdf format should be available from the durham heritage coast organisation at https://durhamheritagecoast.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Heritage-Coast-Coastal-Footpaths-booklet-Hendon-to-Hartlepool-Edition.pdf
If you check out google you should see that there are bus train combinations that can get you from one end to the other. Not perfect but possible! They involve multiple buses and sometimes trains, but there are various options. These may be better Monday-Friday. I downloaded the GoNorthEast app to help me with this. However, you can also get a local taxi which cost uss £18 (cash only) if you dont want the hassle. If so you could consider stopping the walk as soon as you get to Nose Point (as you get into Seaham) as the walk through Seaham is quite urban compared to the deserted beaches and cliffs.
There are many ways to get down to the beach and walk along it. We would recommend getting down to the beach at Blackhall (soon after the start). You can come off the beach pretty close to the end - the path comes down to the beach (look for the pill box)
