Distance 7.7 km
A short, yet challenging hike covering Chrome and Parkhouse Hill in the Peak District, known collectively as the 'dragon's back' due to the jagged spine-like appearence of the two ridged peaks.
The walk begins in Earl Stenrdale and heads through the valley before climbing Chrome Hill and then Parkhouse Hill. Chrome Hill is higher, although less steep with just a short section of easy scrambling to reach the top. Parkhouse Hill is a much shorter, yet steeper ascent, with some tough scrambling to reach the top. It is possible to walk around Parkhouse Hill if desired.
