Walk 6 of the Cherry Pie Walks.
A medium length walk (4 1/2miles, climbing 631ft) including a visit to the Y Ddol Nature Park. Ideal to walk off a Sunday lunch or to work up an appetite before dinner.
The walk starts facing the Cherry Pie Inn (P). Take the minor road to the left of the Inn up Gledlom Hill. At Gledlom Cottage (1) bear left. Cross the Ysceifiog road passing Glan Llyn Farm (2) on the left. At the bottom of the hill, you will come to a road junction. Bear right for a few paces and you will see the entrance to Y Ddol Nature Park on the left. There is a circular walk through the park which brings you back to this point (3). Continue down the road to the main Mold-Denbigh road (4). Turn left and walk a few paces until you see a minor road on your right, Ffordd Trefechan (5) known as "Doolally Valley." Follow this road and take the first left turn (6). Walk to the end of the road which turns sharply to the left before dropping down to Pont Sarn, a bridge over the old rail track (6). Turn right before the bridge. Walk on to Nannerch Lodge where you turn left to return to the Cherry Pie Inn.
Most of this walk is on very minor, virtually traffic free roads. However, the path through the nature park can be muddy after wet weather so boots or shoes with good grip are recommended.
Parking: Cherry Pie Inn, the Old Mill, the Rising Sun car parks.
