Chepstow to Tintern Abbey via Offa's Dyke Path
Author’s recommendation
Safety information
For the most part, this is a clearly defined route with good waymarkings. There are some sections that are less well defined, and these are prone to being muddy during periods of wet weather. It is essential that you dress appropriately for the current weather conditions, and you must remember that even in the summer months the weather can be inclement and changeable.
You should always carry enough water and snacks to cover a full day of walking, even when there are potential stops along the way.
Whilst the route is mostly off road, there is the occasional road crossing, and care should be taken to ensure you cross only when it is safe to do so.
