An 11 mile walk through some of Leicestershires most engaging countryside
easy
Distance 17.2 km
This is an 11 mile walk through the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire. The walk goes through three of Leicestershire famous beauty spots, Bradgate Park, Beacon Hill and Swithland Wood. The walk has it all forests, woodland, views and history.
There are some engaging villages and plenty of pubs along the way. Minimal road walking.
There are plenty of starting points along this circular walk and no shortage of car parks (although you do have to pay). I think it is a delightful walk, take your time doing it there are plenty of spots where you will want to stop for a while, well worth a day out
