10 mile circuit within Black Mountains with two ridges. South from Capel Y ffin, pub lunch at Llanthony Abbey, return Offa's Dyke, or easy option take valley walk back.

Distance 17.5 km
Park at Capel-y-ffin telephone box and climb up the ridge to the west for spectacular views including the Grwyne Fawr reservoir and even, on a clear day, the Bristol Channel. Continue south along the ridge until shortly after Bal Mawr 607 metres you descend amidst hawthorne blossom, season permitting, down to Llanthony Abbey, which provides a historic pub within Llanthony Priory. From there it is a steep ascent to Offas Dyke on the ridge above the Priory to the east. Again spectacular views. Walk north along the Dyke path and descend steeply back down to the foot of the ridge and turn north again along farm track to Capel Y Fin.
