When Broadmoor Hospital was built in the mid-nineteenth century, much of the surrounding ancient heathland was converted to parkland and used as a setting for therapeutic walks for patients. The distinctive raised wooded knolls you see here today, are an echo of this historic landscape, now a tranquil spot for a pleasant walk
Our 'Greenspace on your doorstep' directory lists over 70 local woodlands, parks, meadows and riversides across Surrey, Hampshire & Berkshire. They've all been set aside by local authorities to give us places to get fresh air and exercise, with the family or the dog! All have free car parking, many with dedicated car parks. Most have dog poo bins and have been designed with dog-walking in mind.
ParkingThere is a small car park next to Crowthorne Rugby Club. See our website for more details.
