A 12.5 mile circular hike with 2000 feet of ascent; The walk is over open access land with a portion along Sarn Helen (Roman road) and the Beacons Way footpath. Some of the terrain is rough, wet and muddy under foot
The hike takes in three major peaks all over 2000 feet; Fan Frynyach, Craig Cerrig Glesiad and Fan Llia as well as the cairn of Fan Frynyach. It offers some excellent views over the Brecon Beacons including Pen y Fan, Corn Du, Fan Nedd and Fan Gyhiryach.
