Starts with a gentle hour along the canal, then a few ups and downs around Shuckburgh deer park and the hill village of Flecknoe, before descending to the site of an abandoned village.

There are some really good views on this walk (if you happen to walk it on a clear day, rather than the mist and fog on my attempt!), particularly northwards just before Flecknoe.
The start along the Oxford canal is a gentle warm-up for an hour. You turn off just before it gets tedious, heading toward and over the Shuckburgh deer park. If you wanted to extend the walk, you could turn right before leaving the deer park and go up a hill with some great views to the south.
From Shuckburgh the route follows field edges up to Flecknoe, and a great view over the flat ground back towards Rugby.
