This route is mainly on wide Forestry Commission paths. However, the diversions from the main paths makes for an interesting ramble. The loops can be by-passed by staying on the main track for those who want to.
Even the main tracks have their challenges though. In places there are steep climbs or descents and some sections have suffered from water damage.
