Chidham to Eastney via Cobnor Point, Thornham, Emsworth, Langstone, Brockhampton, Farlington Marshes, Milton.
Path then sea bank with causeway at Cobnor Point. Bypass Thorney Island and onto the Solent Way at Emsworth. Marshes, roadside and path to end by passing Hayling Island too.
Solent Way
Wayfarer's Walk
A short inland path with sea wall from Cullimers Pond (my 5,000 mile landmark). A short causeway of sea wall path rounds Cobnor Point with farmland now sacrificed back to the sea. Bypassing Thorney Island it is on into Emsworth and onto the Solent Way. Langstone and Brockhampton soon come and go skipping over the road over to Hayling Island at Langstone. A wet dip down around Farlington Marshes changes the scene before road noise returns and the suburbs of Portsmouth approach. Note: Portsmouth is technically an island but I still walked waterside paths and roads down to Eastney to end the day.
