A mix of promenade, esplanade and sea wall all day.
Saxon Shore Way
Thanet Coast Path
Easy walking along hard surfaces and a mix of sea wall, promenades and gentrified esplanades all day. The route passes a neat modernised sea front at Herne Bay and runs beneath the low cliffs of Bishopstone. From St Mary's Chapel at Reculver a concrete topped sea wall, marked as the Thanet Coast Path, runs for a good few miles into Birchington and reveals the first chalk cliffs as the path stays under the cliffs emerging at Westgate Bay and Margate before hiding again beneath Cliftonville only to re-emerge at Kingsgate.
