Roadside to start then 10 miles of grass topped sea wall. Farmland and lane to sea wall / shingle beach leading to Whitstable promenade. Seafront paths and low cliffs to end.
Saxon Shore Way
Early walking is along the banks of the River Swale inland of the Isle of Sheppey. The route barely skirts Sittingbourne and drops straight out onto grass topped sea wall for ten miles via Teynham and emerging at the tempting Shepherd Neame brewery in Faversham. Muddy farmland follows but a return via a lane to the seafront at Seasalter reveals a shingle beach plus a sea wall and promenade walk through Whitstable with low cliff tops to end the day.
