Southwold to Aldeburgh via Walberswick, Dunwich, Sizewell, Thorpeness.
Lanes and tracks through Southwold Harbour with sea wall and a short shingle beach walk from Walberswick. Then inland via reed beds and woodland for Dunwich and muddy tracks. Shingle beach, marshes, flood bank, fields and roadside to end.
Suffolk Coast Path
Following the unmade track inland through the quaint harbour the route quickly turns over the river and heads back to the coast for a short stretch of shingle beach. It is then inland via a reed bed path and woodland for the muddy tracks around the large houses near Dunwich. Then back on to a beach comprising high shingle banks all the way to Aldeburgh passing Sizewell Power Station. Inland again around the flood bank of Aldeburgh marshes and the River Alde before crossing fields to find the road out of Aldeburgh.
