Skegness to Freiston Shore via Gibraltar Point, Wainsfleet St Mary, Friskney, Wrangle Flats.
Town and promenade to start with lanes down to Gibraltar Point. Then inland and into the fens for a diifficult section to navigate back up to the A52. There is a possible trespass in this published route, but it cannot be easily confirmed. A nasty hazardous roadside walk along the A52 before lanes and grassed sea wall path to end.
No Marked Trail
With town, promenade and lanes to Gibraltar Point it starts easily. The next section inland and up to the A52 is not so easy and this route passes through an Environment Agency compound at a sluice and crosses farmland alongside the dykes before arriving at the lanes up to the A52. I was lucky to find a local resident who pointed me in the right direction but this is very much empty land and finding a route through that isn't marked with ubiquitous and threatening 'private' signs is very difficult. Once away from the A52 it is back down lanes and an easy marked path across the fens via dykes and sea wall to the end. This is the flattest section of my entire walk around Britain. It was only made harder by boredom and foul weather when I walked it.
