Cleethorpes to Mablethorpe via Humberston Fitties, Donna Nook, Saltfleet, Theddlethorpe.
Start out along lanes through a large holiday park and around the chalets of Humbersone Fitties. Then onto 8 miles of flood banks / sea wall skirting Tetney Marshes. Down onto sands at Donna Nook and around edge of RAF range through dunes and scrub to Saltfleet. Briefly along lanes and back down to beach to the end.
No Marked Trail
With lanes through a holiday park and sea wall walking the first half of the day isn't overly thrilling. On arrival at Donna Nook spitits will be lifted if you arrive at the back end of the year when the Grey Seals are giving birth. This is the best place in the UK for getting up close and a cordoned reserve with resident rangers provides excellent access. If the MoD bombing range is open and the seals aren't around the route continues along the beach and through the salt marshes all the way to Saltfleet. If not, then a diversion via inland lanes will be required. Once back on the beach after Saltfleet the route now traverses a huge open expanse of silt which becomes an increasingly sandy beach with the sea so far out that it can barely be seen at low tide.
