Paull to Goxhill via Salt End, Hull, Humber Bridge, Barton-upon-Humber, New Holland.
Sea wall around Salt End chemical works then roads and A1033 around Hull docks. Join the Trans Pennine Trail along the riverside through Hull. Up and over the Humber Bridge, riverside path plus lanes and fields to end.
Trans Pennine Trail
A short stretch on the sea wall ducks inland to pick up roadside pavement around the chemical works and working docks of Hull. Dip back to the river to pick up the start of the Trans Pennine Trail which keeps riverside through the old docks and over wharf roof tops emerging at modern apartment blocks and a shopping complex. The path continues riverside before leaving it to dip North and find a way up onto the Humber Bridge. Once in Lincolnshire a riverside path is easily accessible though a company had closed access to it at Barrow Haven forcing me to use lanes and fields to finish the last few miles. The closure - whether legitimate or not - spoilt the end of an interesting if very flat day around the Humber.
My Rank **
