Promenade to start, sandy beach, up onto cliffs joining Cleveland Way. former Iron and Alum works, drop into cobbled streets of Staithes and cliff top walking to end.
Cleveland Way
Another delightful walk with promenade starting the day through a surprisingly clean Redcar. A good few miles of firm sand, rich with fossils, lead to the pier at Saltburn. Up onto the cliffs to join the Cleveland Way for cliff top walking and distant views back to Teeside. Plenty of industrial heritage with former Iron and Alum works as the path dips through Skinningrove and Boulby. A steep drop onto the narrow cobbled streets of quaint and historic Staithes and up onto the cliffs again for 3 miles to Runswick.
