North Berwick to Thorntonloch via Peffer Sands, Tyninghame, Dunbar, Barns Ness, Torness Point.
Road towards Tantallen Castle to start. Down to rocky foreshore for Peffer Sands. Head inland to cross River Tyne through possibly private grounds near Tyninghame. Through the John Muir Country Park and around Dunbar for a cliff top walk to Torness Power Station. Drop down to walk the sea wall around the power station to end.
John Muir Way
A short road section towards but bypassing Tantallen Castle. Dropping down the foreshore is rocky but passable to Peffer Sands. Duck inland at Belhaven Bay to cross the River Tyne. I had a friendly challenge as I walked through the grounds of a large house converted into apartments at Tyninghame but I would question this challenge on the basis that it is still Scotland and I passed a number of cyclists using this route. Join up with the John Muir Way back down river and around John Muir Country Park before Dunbar and Dunbar Golf Club. Cliff top walk to the nuclear power station at Torness. Duck down and around the power station and look out for dolphins near the warmed water outlet of the power station.
My Rank **
