The North Sea Trail is very poorly marked, overgrown in sections and occasional dead ends (not to be trusted). Hence the terrain may include deep bracken and very long wet grass and brambles. Stonehaven lanes and cliff top path to Dunnottar Castle. A92 and lanes to Inverbervie
North Sea Trail (Nave Nortrail)
A frustrating walk with dead ends, overgrown paths and a very poorly marked and maintained trail. It is difficult to trust the North Sea Trail but it is worth perseverance with a bit of patience. From Stonehaven lanes and a well trodden cliff path skirt Dunnottar Castle but the back end of the day alongside the A92 and down more lanes isn't the most thrilling of finishes. This walk is graded hard due to the difficult overgrown sections but also because it is over 25 miles long.
