Newburgh to Cove Bay via Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, Footdee, Torry, Altens.
10 miles of sandy beach, inland to Bridge of Don, Aberdeen promenade, docks, unmarked cliff path by-passes Altens (possibly North Sea Trail) to Cove Bay.
No Marked Trail
Straight onto the beach at Newburgh with large seal colony on opposite bank of the estuary at Forvie Nature Reserve. 10 miles of sandy beach emerge at the estuary and a quick inland diversion for roadside pavements over the Bridge of Don before dipping back down to the sea to walk along the promenade of Aberdeen to the old village of Footdee. Inland again around the oil industry docks, skirt Aberdeen city centre and over the River Dee to the fish docks of Torry. Then out to the headland to pick up a cliff path which could be the North Sea Trail (if it was marked) all the way to Cove Bay.
