Rosehearty to Peterhead via Sandhaven, Fraserburgh, Inverallochy, Rattray Head, St Fergus.
Roadside through Sandhaven and into the town and high street of Fraserburgh. Then 15 miles of continuous sandy beach walking with 3 small rivers / streams to wade. Suburbs and town to end.
No Marked Trail
From Fraserburgh Bay this walk is a huge lift if you like beach walking. It was the longest unbroken beach walk on my trip so far and only to be beaten by some of the vast expanse of silty sand in Lincolnshire. Not great for views but the streams to wade break some of the monotony and an offshore lighthouse at Rattray Head is a bleak outpost. I can't imagine this would be great walk on a bad day as there is nowhere to shelter, but it is a day for isolation and real seaside walking.
