Track and boggy moorland give way to lane up to the lighthouse at Dunnet Head (Britain's most northerly point). Backtrack a short distance and stay on lanes, a track and then lanes again into John O'Groats.
No Marked Trail
A lovely start across the sand and onto boggy tracks and moorland to eventually pick up the lane to Dunnet Head and a quick visit to the lighthouse at the most northerly point of mainland Britain. It's then lanes and more lanes with a bit of track thrown in before you get across to John O'Groats and enjoy the parties as dozens of cyclists arrive after completing their LEJOG. The weather was dreadful when I did this walk, which might explain my lack of enthusiasm for it.
