Unmade track to Ferry House, ferry, then coast path, sandy beach and dunes around Faraid Head and back to Durness.
No Marked Trail
A rough track up the hill out from Kearvaig joins with the "main" track used to ferry visitors to the lighthouse by minibus. The whole route has glorious views, some of barren moorland but others of bays, beaches and open sea. A short ferry ride, which will operate on request out of season, brings civilisation and a lovely coast path along the edge of a small golf course ends up at beautiful Balnakeil Bay. Walk along the sandy beach then head up through the dunes to round Feraid Head. The view inland from here is astounding. Head back along the dune lined coast back towards Durness. Another top 20 walk. Two in two days is a blessing.
