West Tarbert to Port Ban via Torinturk, Dunmore, Ardpatrick, Ceann an t-Sailein, Kilberry, Coulaghailtro.
Lane to start, following West side of West Loch Tarbert and left to Ardpatrick. Track and then up through field. Chest deep bracken, bog grass, wet thick woodland, two small beaches. Then it gets even tougher - beware - deep tufted grass, bog, very thick overgrown woodland, a few fences, bracken and very deep soggy bog. Eventually emerge to bog and grass back to lane.
No Marked Trail
The lane walking is easy. The off road stuff through the estate isn't. Do not trust any OS marked path beyond Ardpatrick. The route taken was a gamble, I got through and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, but it was extremely tough and probably not my wisest choice. I did find two beautiful hidden beaches with stunning views, but please be warned and be careful, this is ankle breaking territory.
